What exactly is The Salvation Army?

Well first and foremost The Salvation Army is a Christian Church. We hold services (although we call them meetings), which are held each Sunday - at Easton they are 10.30am, and 5pm.

Can anyone attend the services?

Absolutely! You do not have to be a member of The Salvation Army to join in our services.

If most people are in uniform won't I feel out of place?

Not at all. In fact most of our congregation just wear ordinary clothes. It's mostly the Band and the choir (Songsters) that wear uniform - in fact probably as many as two thirds don't wear uniform.

How many attend your meetings?

We have a membership of around 200 people, but of course they are not all able to get along to a service on a Sunday. We would expect to see about 150 worshipping on a Sunday Morning, and probably about 50 less on a Sunday evening.

What sort of age mix do you have?

A very broad age mix. We have a very strong youth and teenage group, young marrieds, middle life and retirees. Whatever your situation there will be someone else with similar circumstances.

What exactly do you believe in?

We have a set of beliefs that are summarised in what we call our Doctrines. There are eleven of them, and if you are interested in knowing what they are E-Mail us, and we'll send them on to you. Broadly though, we believe that the Bible is God inspired, and that Jesus Christ, through His death on the Cross enables us - whatever our situation - to be saved from our sins and to know eternal life by serving and committing ourselves to God.

Can you help me trace my missing Brother/Sister parent/relative...?
